School readiness screening

School readiness screening is for children going into kindergarten and pre-primary. The screen assesses the skills that your child needs to thrive at school.

The school readiness screening assesses the child's:

  • Fine motor skills (using their hands)
  • Gross motor skills (whole body movement skills)
  • Communication (speaking and understanding skills)
  •  Problem solving skills, and
  • Personal-social skills

All activities in the assessment are done in a fun and play-based way.

The screen will let you know in each of the above areas, if your child is on track for their age, or if they would benefit from support to boost their skills, so that they start school feeling confident and ready to 'hit the ground running'.

  • Sensory processing and sensory regulation

  • Assessments and reports for SCSA School Curriculum and Standards Authority - Application for Equitable Access Adjustments (e.g. typing instead of writing) in ATAR exams.
  • Strategies for Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Carer impact statements, and statements of lived experience.

Community participation and exercise

Exercise is the #1 non-medication strategy that someone can do to support ADHD executive functioning skills. I am passionate about supporting children and their caregivers to learn about their child's social preferences (e.g. individual/ parallel activities vs team sports), sensory processing (for example, do they love spinning and deep pressure?), their interests and more. We work together to find movement activities that support them to participate in the community, meet their sensory needs, promote emotional regulation,  physical and mental health.
