Adults

Autism and ADHD support

My approach to occupational therapy is coaching- and counselling-based, grounded in neurodiversity-affirming practice.

Rather than focusing solely on strategies or “fixing”, we take time to understand:

  • how your brain works
  • how your life experiences have shaped you
  • what has (or hasn’t) supported you so far

This work is about understanding, self-compassion, and sustainable change, not pushing through burnout or masking at your own expense.

I work with adults to explore life pre- and post-diagnosis, including:

  • making sense of your life story through an Autism and/or ADHD lens
  • unpacking grief, relief, anger, or confusion that can come with late diagnosis
  • developing self-compassion skills and reframing beliefs about yourself

"Body doubling"

This is a concept founded by the neurodivergent community. "Body doubling" is where someone is nearby you as you complete a task that you would like to get done. It is particularly helpful for neurodivergent individuals who are Autistic and/or have ADHD, who benefit from executive functioning supports, such as:

  • Support to start tasks ("task initiation")
  • External motivation for non-preferred tasks
  • Assistance to break down the task into smaller achievable steps (combatting overwhelm)
  • Assistance to stay on task (not get distracted).

Sensory assessments and recommendations

Information coming soon.

Walk and talk therapy

Walk-and-talk is particularly helpful for individuals who may be:

  • Time-poor and struggle to find time for exercise. Let's multitask therapy and getting some steps in
  • Find sitting still in appointments challenging
  • Experiencing stress, and find spending time in nature helpful for their mental health
  • Prefer talking to someone when next to them, rather than across from them, so that eye contact is less frequent
  • Find that they think and talk easier when moving
  • Find that being able to verbally process what's happening helps them to reflect and problem solve

Workplace accommodations

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion assessments and recommendations for individuals,

schools and workplaces. Guidance on developing and implementing accommodations to

support individuals with disabilities.

For example, what accommodations someone who is Autistic-ADHD would benefit from to support their inclusion in their workplace.
